To help prevent the spread of the Coronavirus you need to stay home. Do not go to work, do not go to the store, and do not go to your doctors’ office.
Getting Medical Care
If you have any suspicion that you have contracted Covid 19 from your home you should look up the number to a clinic that is testing for this virus. Your local urgent care and doctors’ office is not prepared to handle this virus. You need to search to find the nearest testing center. You will then call them and make an appointment. You should not just show up as you may infect others around you.
Home Isolation: Separate yourself from other people
People that have symptoms of the coronavirus should isolate themselves. They need to stay home unless they are called to the doctor for medication attention. If there are other people in the home with you, you isolate yourself from them as well.
This is called home isolation. Your family or roommates should not go into public either.
Must Wear Facemask If You Are Sick
Even when you are asked to go to the doctor’s office you need to take some precautions so you do not infect others. Some of them are some simple hygiene practices that you should already be doing and others are to keep the germs away from others. When going to the doctor’s office you should wear a face mask. This will help protect the medical staff that will be testing and treating you.
Cover Up Sneezes and Coughs
If you do happen to feel the urge to sneeze or cough you should make sure you cover your mouth. You should sneeze into your elbow to keep germs from getting into the air or on your hands. If you need to cough you should also make sure your mouth is covered. If you have a tissue nearby this will work then you can throw it out. This is something that you should be doing anyway to keep your germs away from others.
Clean Your Hands Often
According to experts one of the best things you can do to reduce the risk of spreading or contracting the coronavirus is to wash your hands often. You should wash your hands after you cough or sneeze. You should also wash your hands before touching shared surfaces. According to medical professionals, you should wash your hands with soap and running water for 20 seconds. If you are not near a sink you can use hand sanitizer and then wash your hands with soap and water when you get to the sink. You should also avoid touching your face. Do not touch your eye, nose, or your mouth especially if your hands are not clean.
Do not share personal household items with others
If you do have the Covid 19 and are living in a home with others you should not share personal items. You should not share utensils, personal care products, or anything else that you come in contact with. You need to stay away from your family and do not allow them to touch anything that you have used. You should sleep in separate beds if you have a romantic partner. After you touch any common household item or any surface area it should be washed. Countertops can be cleaned with a disinfectant. Everything else you touch can be washed using soap and water. You should clean the toilet and shower after being used as they may still have traced of bodily fluids.
When in doubt call a medical professional if you are feeling ill and tell that you may have been exposed to the Covid 19.
Do Not Panic
These are some basic steps you should do if you feel that you have the coronavirus or have been diagnosed with this virus. You should not go out into public. Before going to the healthcare facility, you need to call ahead first and make sure they are ready for you. While it may get boring staying at home you should not be around people until the medical professional states that you are no longer contagious.
